Venice Beach & Hollywood

Vanaf Tuxtla vlogen we eerst een uur naar Mexico-City, en daarna nog 3 uur naar LA. Daarna gingen we naar de autoverhuur. Mijn vader had een Full SUV gehuurd, dus de auto was echt ENORM! Toen we naar ons huis in Venice Beach reden, hing er een dikke mist. Gelukkig was het de volgende dag wel heel lekker weer. Ik was heel erg opgewonden, want ik zou na 6 jaar eindelijk een vriendin uit Barcelona terugzien. We zaten samen op de crèche! Ze woont nu in een stadje naast LA en het was superleuk om haar weer te zien! We hebben samen met haar familie rondgelopen door Venice en we zijn naar het strand gegaan. Superjammer dat ze in de avond weer weggingen. De volgende dag gingen we ontbijten met een vrouw die we in Tulum hadden ontmoet. Heel gezellig! Daarna gingen we naar het California SienCentre, een museum dat je kunt vergelijken met Nemo in Amsterdam. Daarna gingen we rondrijden in Beverly Hills, de duurste wijk in LA. Alle filmsterren wonen daar! De huizen zijn heel groot en mooi, maar toch is Venice veel en veel leuker. In Venice Beach is er echt een leuke sfeer, en in Beverly Hills zie je echt niemand rondlopen, iedereen zit de hele tijd binnen of in de auto. De volgende dag gingen we iets superleuks doen; naar Universal Studios! Universal Studios is een filmstudio/pretpark, en je hebt attracties van allemaal verschillende films. We waren er al toen het openging, maar pech voor ons was het Marthen Luther King Day, wat betekende dat alle Amerikanen vrij hadden. Het was dus superdruk! Ik denk dat iedereen kwam voor The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, dat net open was gegaan. Ik ben een echte fan van Harry Potter, dus ik wou meteen daarheen gaan, maar meteen stond er een rij van 50 minuten. We hebben dus eerst een ritje gedaan van Minions, een daarna een studiotour. De studiotour was echt heel leuk! Het park ligt naast de filmsets van Hollywood, dus je gaat met een treintje door alle sets heen. Dat was zo gek! Het ene moment reed je nog door New York, en toen opeens in het Wilde Westen. Je ging ook in een soort loods waar een supercoole 3D film draaide. We hadden er 3 gezien; van Jurassic Park (die was echt supereng, er kwamen allemaal reuzenspinnen), eentje van een metrostation waar een gasontploffing was met echt vuur en eentje van The Fast And The Furious (het geluid was echt niet normaal hard). Daarna gingen we eindelijk naar het Harry Potter-gedeelte je gaat naar binnen door de Wegisweg, met alle winkels die je ook in de boeken hebt, zoals Ollivanders en Madame Mallekins Gewaden Voor Elke Gelegenheid. Ik vond het zoooooo cool! Het voelde alsof ik echt door de Wegisweg liep. Ik heb ook Boterbier gedronken, maar het smaakte niet echt bijzonder. Ik denk dat het in het echte Zweinsveld veel lekkerder is! Ik wou ook een toverstaf kopen bij Ollivanders, maar die zijn wel 50(!) dollar! Belachelijk toch? Ze waren niet eens van hout, gewoon van plastic! Ik en mijn moeder gingen eerst in The Flight Of The Hippogrif. We moesten 35 minuten wachten, en het ritje duurde letterlijk 30 seconden :(. Vanaf de rij had je wel heel mooi uitzicht op Zweinstein. Het zag er zo mooi uit! Ik verwachte elk moment dat ik Harry, Ron of Hermelien zou zien. Na die achtbaan gingen we in de rij staan voor Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey. De rij was superlang, 65 minuten, maar wel heel mooi. Je liep door de kassen, het Verweer Tegen de Zwarte Kunsten-lokaal, een portrethal waar de schilderijen echt bewogen en de kamer van Perkamentus. Die schitterend was. Het ritje zelf was ook heel leuk. Je vloog over het Zwerkbalveld, door het Verboden Bos met Dementors en Acromantula's en door Zweinstein. Na het ritje gingen we naar Simpsons: The Ride, een virtuele achtbaan door Krustyland, het pretpark van Springfield. Het was echt een hele leuke dag. Voordat we in LA waren dacht ik dat LA super overrated zou zijn, maar nu weet ik wel beter. LA is een super stad!
From Tuxtla we flew to Mexico City, and then another 3 hours to LA. Then we went to the car rental. My dad had rented a Full SUV, so the car was really huge! The next day I was very excited, because I finally saw a friend from Barcelona after 6 years! She now lives in a town next to LA and it was super fun to see her again! We joined her family and we went to Venice beach. The next day we went to eat breakfast with a woman we met in Tulum. Very nice! Then we went to the California SienCentre, a museum full of interesting things. Then we went driving around in Beverly Hills, the most expensive area in LA. All the movie stars live there! The houses are very large and beautiful, but still Venice is much more fun. In Venice Beach There is really a nice atmosphere, and in Beverly Hills you really see no one walking around, everyone sits inside or in the car. The next day we went to do something super fun; Universal Studios! Universal Studios is a movie studio/ amusement park, and you have attractions of different movies. We were already there when it opened, but we had bad luck - it was Marthen Luther King Day, which meant that all Americans had a free day, and it was super busy! I think everyone came for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter that had just opened. I am a real fan of Harry Potter, so I wanted to go there immediately, but immediately there was a que of 50 minutes. So we first did a ride of Minions, and then the studio tour. The Studio Tour was really nice! The park is located next to the movie sets of Hollywood, so you go with a train through all the sets. That was so crazy! One moment you drove through New York, and then suddenly in the wild West. You also went into a kind of shed where you saw a supercool 3d movie. We had seen 3; From Jurassic Park (which was really scary, there were all giant spiders), one from a subway station where there was a gas explosion with real fire and one from the Fast and the Furious (the sound was really too hard). Then we finally went to the Harry Potter section. You enter through Diagon Alley, with all the shops you have in the books, such as Ollivanders and Madame Malkins Robes For Every Occasion. I thought it was soooooo cool! It felt like I really walked through the movies. I also drank Butterbeer, but it didn't taste really special. I think it is much more delicious in the real Hogsmeade! I also wanted to buy a magic wand from Ollivanders, but they are 50(!) dollars! Ridiculous right? They weren't even of wood, just from plastic! Me and my mother first went into the Flight of the Hippogrif. We had to wait 35 minutes, and the ride took literally 30 seconds. From the que you had very nice views of Hogwarts. It looked so nice! I expected every moment I would see Harry, Ron or Hermione. After that roller coaster we went to the line for Harry Potter And the Forbidden Journey. The que was super long, 65 minutes, but very nice. You walked through the greenhouses, the Defence Against The Dark Arts room, a hall where the paintings really moved and the room of Dumbledore. The ride itself was also very nice. You flew over the Quidditch pitch, trough the Forbidden Forest with Dementors and Acromantula's and trough Hogwarts. After the ride we went to the Simpsons: The ride, a virtual roller coaster in Krustyland, the Springfield amusement park. It was really a very nice day. Before we were in L.A. I thought that LA is overrated, but now I know better. LA is a super city!
